1 ATEX

The ATEX directive defines two categories (1Atex and 2Atex) for products suitable for use with flammable substances. Category 1 is used for higher risk situations that require rigorous safety measures, while Category 2 is used for lower-risk applications.

ECEx System, or International Electrotechnical Commission System for Certification to Standards Relating to Equipment for Use in Explosive Atmospheres, boosters trust in the safety of Ex equipment worldwide. In contrast, ATEX is a mandatory application limited to Europe.

ATEX is the short form for the “ATmospheres EXplosibles Regulations.”
