316 Stainless Steel Housing

316 Stainless Steel Housing is used in offshore, marine and washdown applications.

Non-magnetic and corrosion resistant, 316 stainless steel housing offers a reduced risk to stress corrosion cracking, improved creep resistance, and better protection against pitting and crevice corrosion.

316 stainless steel is composed of 16% chromium, 10% nickel and 2% molybdenum. The molybdenum is added to help resist corrosion to chlorides (like sea water, brine solutions and de-icing salts), more resistant to solutions of sulfuric acid, bromides, iodides and fatty acids at high temperature.
