The DarkCrystal CAM (Camera and Mini-Ring Light) is a game changer.

This small, affordable, yet rugged subsea self-lighted camera is designed to fit where traditional cameras cannot go. Leveraging state-of-the-art technology, Sidus has significantly improved video quality and added numerous features never before available in such a compact-sized, easy-to-use camera/light combo.

Video resolution, sensitivity, and dynamic range are all much improved over existing products. A high-quality sapphire port and titanium housing allow operation down to 6,000msw for a wide range of applications. A miniature, highly flexible, integral cable helps reduce the overall size and weight of the product for tight spots such as small ROV pan & tilts with very low torque capability.

True Wide Dynamic Range

The video output format of the analog camera can be easily changed on the fly to output CVBS (1000TVL), AHD, TVI, or CVI video formats (full 1080p30 resolution) as either NTSC or PAL. Minimum B&W illumination as low as 0.0008 lux is possible. True Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) and high signal-to-noise ratio provide clear, crisp video images. Auto white balance and auto exposure can be overridden during usage (utilizing an onscreen display) if manual controls are preferred. Numerous digital effects, such as flip, rotate, sharpness, defog and backlight compensation are available. Analog controls, Tristate, or serial port commands may be used to make image adjustments in real-time.

The feature-rich, low latency streaming IP camera has comparable video specifications that can be changed on the fly over the web interface. The password-protected web interface is compatible with secure, modern web browsers such as Google Chrome and the camera is NDAA compliant. Up to 512GB of onboard recording for video (approximately 2 days or more at highest quality) or still images can be time stamped and synchronized to a network time server. Video may be H.264 or MJPEG encoded at video bit rates of up to 20Mbps. Three simultaneous streams are supported at different resolutions, frame rates and compression qualities.

Dimmable LED Light

The dimmable HBLED light can output up to 2500 lumens using our unique high count LED circuitry to ensure uniform illumination over the entire field of view with minimal shadows. The DarkCrystal CAM design prevents unwanted interference between the HBLEDs and camera by minimizing reflections onto the camera lens in comparison to other existing similar products. An advanced hybrid dimming algorithm gives the user the option of selecting various HBLED dimming methodologies. Analog dimming minimizes acoustic noise for applications using nearby sonars and acoustic ranging devices. A combination of analog and PWM dimming provides an incredible dimming range of up to 30,000:1.

The Sidus Solution DarkCrystal CAM product line is designed to operate at an excellent lighting efficacy ratio (lumens/watt) maximizing the amount of lumens to power consumption (up to 200 lumens/watt). Full lighting control may be accomplished using power cycling, serial port, discrete analog inputs, discrete digital inputs or tristate controls.
